DIY MEMOIR - PART 1

GET STARTED HERE

1.  Memory Lane Snapshots

Look at photos of people, places, and events in your life, read diaries or journals, look at mementos, memorabilia, saved objects, saved greeting cards.

Listen to music from the times of your life.

Write a few sentences about the feelings these items spark.

Write about them in longhand or type them in a Word file.

If neither of those formats suits you, use a voice recorder and tell your story verbally.

Just get it down and saved.

2.  Facts & Details

List important events in each era of your life (births, deaths, marriages, milestones, etc.)

List friends and enemies, jobs, education, historical events,

places you’ve lived,

goals, aspirations, and dreams,

broken relationships, fears,

hopes dashed,

accomplishments and how you achieved each one.

3. Specifics

With your memories sparked, you're ready for  some specific topics.
